Liverpool-legenden Steven Gerrard er bekreftet som ny manager for Aston Villa.
Gerrard kommer fra managerjobben i Glasgow Rangers hvor han tok laget tilbake til toppen og vant ligaen forrige sesong for første gang på ti år. Han tar over etter at Dean Smith fikk sparken sist helg. Birmingham-klubben må betale rundt 30 millioner kroner i kompensasjon til Rangers. Gerrard tar også med seg Gary McAllister som assistent fra de skotske mesterne.
Steven Gerrard sier følgende til klubbens nettside: “Aston Villa is a club with a rich history and tradition in English football and I am immensely proud to become its new Head Coach.
