Manchester United bekrefter i dag at de har funnet Ole Gunnar Solskjærs erstatter. 63 år gamle Ralf Rangnick skal være vikar i sjefsstolen på Old Trafford frem til sommeren. Han skal videre være konsulent i klubben i ytterligere to år.
Tyskeren kalles «Gudfaren av Gegenpress» i Tyskland, og har vært en stor inspirasjon for dagens anerkjente tyske trenere som Thomas Tuchel (Chelsea), Jürgen Klopp (Liverpool), Julian Nagelsmann (Bayern München) og Ralph Hasenhüttl (Southampton).

“Ralf is one of the most respected coaches and innovators in European football. He was our number one candidate for interim manager, reflecting the invaluable leadership and technical skills he will bring from almost four decades of experience in management and coaching.
“Everyone at the club is looking forward to working with him during the season ahead, and then for a further two years in his advisory role.”

Ralf Rangnick har vært ansatt som leder for sport og utvikling i Lokomotiv Moskva. Tidligere har han trent flere tyske klubber. Bl.a Leipzig og Schalke.
